How does it work?

A URIMAT waterless urinal works by using a specially designed trap system and biodegradable cartridge instead of a continuous water flush.

Here's the simple explanation:

1. Urine flows through the bowl into the URIMAT insert (cartridge).

2. Inside the cartridge is a patented odor-blocking system that allows urine to pass through but prevents sewer gases and smells from coming back up.

3. The urine drains directly into the wastewater system by gravity.

4. Because there is no flushing water, the urine remains concentrated, reducing water consumption to zero liters per use.

5. The bowl is coated with a special surface treatment that helps liquids drain quickly and minimizes deposits and odors.

Why it doesn't smell...

The key is the cartridge:

• It acts as a one-way barrier.

• Odors from the drain cannot travel back through the cartridge.

• The cartridge is periodically replaced during maintenance, ensuring continued odor control.
